Become A CEP Volunteer

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Community Education Partnerships and
in making a difference in the life of a Bay Area student who has experienced homelessness or housing instability!
CEP is now accepting application for in-person tutors. To be a tutor you must be:
  • 16 or older. Minor tutors are required to have a parent or guardian go through the application process with them.
  • A California resident and willing to complete a Live Scan background check.
  • Complete a Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Able to commit at least one hour per week to tutoring for at least six months.
  • Willing to adhere to all safety protocols.
  • For some volunteers, depending on where you volunteer, may require a TB test/screening.
  • Currently in need of in-person volunteers in the San Francisco, San Lorenzo, Oakland, and Richmond area (no virtual). Also accepting volunteers for group programming in Richmond and San Francisco (high need of bilingual tutors).

Not ready to start tutoring? Here are some of the many other ways you can help:
  • Organize a school supply drive or a book drive at work, in your neighborhood, at your church, on your sports team, etc.
  • Make a monetary or in-kind donation
  • Assist with outreach and administrative tasks
  • Next time you host a party, ask guests to bring a book or school supply to donate instead of a gift
  • Spread the word about Community Education Partnerships to others
