Core Program - 1:1 Tutoring (In-Person & Virtual)
Our core program is our one-on-one tutoring and mentoring for students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Volunteers meet with their assigned student(s) weekly for at least one hour. Tutor-student pairs can meet virtually or in-person with Covid safety precautions. Please Note: We are paused on referrals for Oakland and Castro Valley. For San Francisco, we are accepting Middle School and High School student referrals.
Children's Learning Center (In-Person)
CEP staff and volunteers operate a Children's Learning Center at different shelters/transitional housing locations in Oakland and Richmond, CA. We coordinate indoor and outdoor educational and enrichment activities for our students and facilitate online learning and tutoring for them. The Children' Learning Center is open three to five days per week. These are only open to students living/enrolled in these sites.
